Endgame study: make it FUN!
The endgame is an essential and often underestimated part of chess. The Ultimate Pawn Endgames Bundle includes all four volumes from the Mastering Pawn Endgames series by IM Ahmad Alkhatib and will teach you everything you need to know about these endings.
Mastering Pawn Endgames: Volume 1
This course brought to you by IM Ahmad Alkhatib offers several important endgame themes which can easily be applied to your games.
But the key point of this course is: the examples are all relatively easy to master; especially when you know what to look for.
So, instead of spending countless hours on countless openings which might never happen, you can also spend that time studying endgames which are very common, especially pawn endings because they are the basis of all endgames.
Because you'll play endgames in a relatively large part of your games, it can never hurt to master the crucial endgame themes covered in this book.
And, perhaps the next time when someone offers you an exchange in the middlegame, you'll be better able to assess the resulting position arising after this exchange.
Based on your knowledge of how good or bad the resulting endgame will be for you, which after studying this course you will be better able to assess, you can then make a decision.
To know the ending is to know the beginning. Master the pawn endgames and you will unlock the key to Caissa’s secrets.
The following themes are covered in this course;
1. Square Of The Pawn
2. Opposition & Key Squares
3. Sacrificing A Pawn
4. Triangulation
5. Réti's Idea
6. Restricting The King
7. Building A Fortress
8. Breaking Through
9. Drawing Cases
10. Creating A Stalemate
11. Zugzwang
12. Pawn Race
Mastering Pawn Endgames: Volume 2
This second volume takes your training up a notch. It dives into pawn endgames a bit more in-depth to explore more difficult and hard-to-spot instances of the same concepts.
These advanced ideas will be explained in much more detail - and the course's word count reflects that.
One change in this volume is that all the exercises in volume 2 are from White's perspective, whereas volume 1 was a bit confusing at times with both white and black exercises.
Also, every single position has been checked by the engine.
The topics this volume covers are:
🔵 Indirect Opposition;
🔵 Corresponding Squares;
🔵 (Advanced) Breakthrough;
🔵 (Advanced) Pawn Races;
🔵 (Advanced) Stalemates;
🔵 (Advanced) Restricting The King;
🔵 (Advanced) Drawing Cases;
🔵 Pawns Help Each Other;
🔵 King's Maneuver;
🔵 Underpromotion.
So have a stab and step up your endgame study.
Mastering Pawn Endgames: Volume 3
Mastering Pawn Endgames: Volume 3 takes us into the realm of pieces and pawns and how to win or salvage games with that imbalance.
In these endgames, calculation training comes far more to the fore with the focus less on technique like in volumes 1 and 2.
Cases where one side has a piece (a knight, a bishop, a rook, two knights or bishop and knight) and the other side only has pawns are, needless to say, extremely common.
Mastering Pawn Endgames: Volume 4
Mastering Pawn Endgames: Volume 4 takes us into the realm of the queen vs. passed pawn(s), and multiple pieces vs. multiple pawns and how to win or salvage games with this imbalance.
In these endgames, just like in Volume 3, calculation training comes far more to the fore with the focus less on technique like in volumes 1 and 2.
Cases where one side has multiple pieces (2 bishops, rook and bishop, rook and knight) and the other side only has pawns are, needless to say, extremely common.
That's why mastering these pawn endgames, in particular, will certainly pay off!
