Secret Blitz Weapons: Scandinavian Gambit.
This repertoire by
International Master Alex Banzea meets White’s most popular move with an “undodgeable” pawn sacrifice, followed by…
Intuitive Attacks You Can
Play Almost On Auto-Pilot
Here’s a quick tour of the repertoire:
You’ll meet
1.e4 with
1…d5. So right off the bat, White is dancing to
your tune. Then after the objectively best
2.exd5, you’ll gambit a pawn with
2…c6!? 3.dxc6 Nxc6 to accelerate your development… grab the lion’s share of the center… and enjoy the simpler game.

The starting position of the
Scandinavian Gambit
Thanks to your queen and knight, the first player can’t push their pawn to d4. Nor can they bring their pieces into play as fast as they’d like.
Contrast that to the Scandinavian Gambit’s natural moves — which you can blitz out in
10 to 15 seconds almost without thinking!
Start with
…e5 to gain space, then support your pawn with
…Bd6. Next, mobilize your kingside with
…Nge7 and
…O-O. Play
…Bg4 to turn up the pressure along the d1-h5 diagonal. And finally, beat the drums of war with
…f5!

Black about to increase the
pressure with …Kh8 and …Nd4
See for yourself how easy it is to play the Scandinavian Gambit.
Queue for a few rounds of casual blitz. Pick the black side. And follow the simple steps above against 1.e4. You might find that
56% to 70% of the games reach the position you just saw.
That’s because “the best way to refute a gambit is to accept it.” If White wants to play for a win —
and they will — they must walk into your prep.
But even when the first player deviates, the same plan with a few minor adjustments gives you active and straightforward play.
Of course, converting those trumps into victory is a different story. But that’s where Banzea comes in.
Banzea has earned an
average rating of 4.8 stars from satisfied Chessablers. Thanks, in no small part, to his practical strategic insights and active support for students.
Inside, Banzea lays down everything you must know to play the Scandinavian Gambit like an expert… even when you only have 5 minutes for the entire game.
Here’s a sneak peek:
⚡ 160 MoveTrainer variations covering almost every response by White. Leela-powered novelties included!
⚡4.5 hours of video where Banzea breaks down the plans and ideas behind the variations. So you can find the best moves even when the game deviates from theory.
