225 training exercises with the attacking QueenA king may be the most important piece on the chessboard, however, the queen is the most powerful. (Karim R Ellis)
This is the
Fourth Course in the popular series of attacking pieces. While the first course explored the Knight, the second the Bishop, the third the Rooks, this course explores the attacking Queen. The Queen is the most powerful piece on the chessboard and has the power to reach more squares than any other piece for dynamic attacks.
Within this course there are a combination of capture and mating patterns. The
first chapter of 100 variations uses the
Reversing Method in which the
A variation includes only the final Queen move(s) of a Tactic or Mating Pattern, and the following
B variation, the pre-move(s) that set up the Queen's attack. The
second chapter is a set of 125 additional Queen mating and tactic exercises.
All the
starting positions of the variations are taken from games where both players have a rating of at least 2500.
