One of White's more dangerous tries in the Petroff Defense is 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Nxf7!? This piece sacrifice has been played at very high levels, and if Black does not know what to do, he can get wiped off the board. In this repertoire, we thread the needle for Black and demonstrate how he can cope with White's sacrificial idea.
I have made a serious attempt to give some verbal description or explanation of nearly every move for both sides. I hope this commentary illuminates the moves for you, making them easier to understand and therefore easier to remember.
This is a free repertoire designed to be part of a larger one that may be put up for sale, so there is a point -- clearly indicated in the notes -- at which one of the lines stops where further analysis would be helpful. However, I have included everywhere the lines I would actually play for Black and have analyzed most of them all the way out to the end.
Enjoy, and don't forget to leave feedback!
