ChessTech2020ChessTech2020 is the name of the Eighth London Chess Conference, which takes place on the weekend of 5-6 December.

Circumstances forced our hand this year and the entire conference is going to be online.

However, it remains the premier chess-related conference in the world.

Serendipitously, we chose the subject of Chess and Technology before the world was plunged into a state of emergency. The topic is, of course, reflected in the name of this year’s conference.

ChessTech2020 features a large range of speakers, presentations and other special events. The finishing touches are currently being added to the full programme, but here is a teaser.

ChessTech2020 Topics

  • Cheating and Anti-cheating
  • Streaming
  • Hybrid Events
  • Digital Strategy
  • Digital Formats
  • Online Learning Systems
  • Integrated Hardware
  • Playing Platforms
  • Let’s Make Chess Greener
  • Online Projects for Girls and Women
  • New Journalism Formats and much more

Naturally, Chessable will be at the conference (and not for the first time!).

If you are ready to ‘Meet the leaders and pioneers of online chess, discover new products and services, debate cheating and learn about the latest chess-related research’ then you will need to book your ticket as soon as possible.

General Admission tickets are free this year. Professional tickets are available too, at the cost of £50. Head to the ticket page for the full details regarding the differences between the two. Places are already running low (250 tickets have been booked) so please don’t leave it too late to register your interest.

ChessTech2020 will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the year. We all need plenty of positives and this conference is all set to deliver a much-needed boost.

If you attend the conference then please say ‘hello’ if you see me. It would be very good to connect with some of our blog’s readers.

Further information on the conference is available on the official ChessTech2020 website.
