Dr. Alexey Root, Woman International Master, became Chessable’s Chief Science Officer in April of 2022. In March of 2024, her title changed to Chessable Research Awards Coordinator. Alexey is also a half-time lecturer at The University of Texas at Dallas. She is the author of eight books. Her most recent book is United States Women's Chess Champions, 1937-2020.
