The Delhi-born Grandmaster Sahaj Grover has been a chess professional all his life — and a very successful one at that!
In 2005, Sahaj clinched the gold medal in the 2005 World Youth Championship Under-10, and took bronze in the Under-20 section in 2011. He also won the 2012 Indian National Juniors... as well as the South African Open in 2017 and 2018.
When asked by chief Chessable blogger Sean Marsh how he would describe his playing style, Sahaj replied: "I like to think of myself as a dynamic player..."
And you don't have to look far and wide to find brilliant examples of Sahaj's dynamism.
Round 12 of the World Junior Championship in 2011 saw Sahaj slay Baskaran "The Beast" Adhiban in a tense Semi-Slav.
Four years later, in round 9 of the Dubai Chess Open in 2015, Sahaj took down another would-be super GM — Alireza Firouzja — after 41 moves in a sharp French Defense. (Fun fact: Sahaj maintains a 2-0 record against Firouzja.)
But Sahaj didn't become a grandmaster with dynamic, attacking skills alone. He's also an excellent endgame player with more than a few technical masterpieces to his name, and...
In his collaboration with FIDE Master Daniel Barrish, Sahaj created a practical guide to endgame strategy. One which showed readers the right mindset and methods for playing winning, equal and worse endgames.
Since the course was published, it has earned 5/5 ratings from an ever-growing list of satisfied students. The course did so well we had to get Sahaj on board the as a publishing manager!
So if you want to learn from a championship-winning grandmaster... within a well-structured course tailored for your favorite chess platform, then Sahaj Grover is your man.
