For Elisabeth Pähtz, chess is something that runs in the family. Her father is a Grandmaster himself and taught her from the age of five. This early encouragement fell on fertile ground and quickly led to her first major successes: Elisabeth won the German girls' championship at the age of 9 and shortly afterwards became runner-up in her age group.
However, this was only the beginning of a success story: At the age of 13 she was asked to play for the women's national team in Germany, then went on to win the IM and WGM titles, and her GM title is soon going to be officially recognised. In addition, she has already been Junior World Champion (U18 w) as well as German Champion (women) several times in Blitz, Rapid and Classical.
When she’s not busy playing for the Chess Women's Bundesliga or playing individual or team championships, Elisabeth gives chess lessons and creates video lessons. With her Chessable debut, she now teaches you Elementary Chess Strategy. You should take a look and learn the basics from Germany's strongest female player!
