His resumé is certainly eye-catching; he received the grandmaster title in 2012 and following that he was the top scorer in the 2012-13 Dutch competition, netting an impressive 8.5 out of 9 points with an outstanding performance rating of 2887.
Other accolades of his include receiving 4th place at the Dutch National Championship in 2013, winning the Open Leiden chess tournament in 2008, 2016, and 2018, and jointly winning the Mumbai Open in 2018. In 2021, he placed second in the Dutch National Championship.
Playing in top competitions is not his only attribute; he has been a chess teacher for over 14 years and has contributed his knowledge as a chess commentator, notably for the 2020 Online Olympiad.
He has made videos for a wide array of chess websites, including Chessbase, and GingerGM.
In 2022, he debuted his first course on Chessable, the ambitious Lifetime Repertoires: Alekhine Defense.
