Mees van Osch is a FIDE Master from the Netherlands.
Though starting chess at the age of 9, it took some years before FM Van Osch found success in the game. But through joint study with friends, inspiration from the books of Jacob Aagard, and good old-fashioned grit and determination, he reached a breakthrough by winning his regional Dutch youth championship at the age of 18, qualifying him for the national championship. A few years later, he attained the rank of FIDE Master.
Now on a mission to attain the International Master title, FM Van Osch still makes time for his life’s mission - to help other people enrich their lives through the game of chess, just as it did for him. When he’s not working on his own game, he’s training other people to improve theirs. And he’s also collaborating to make club player-friendly opening repertoires they can use to create their own underdog success stories.
Teaming up with fellow Dutch chess coach FM Midas Ratsma, he makes his Chessable debut with an Attacking Repertoire for Club Players for Black. This practical and educational way to approach the opening is by no means boring - it features the same aggressive, attacking style that brought FM Van Osch so much success in his own chess career.
