Benjamin Gledura is a grandmaster from Hungary.
After playing his first tournament at the age of 7, a local coach recognized his talent, and it wasn’t long before GM Gledura found his calling. He quickly refined his talent and became a skilled young competitor, even winning the European Under 10 Championship.
The successes continued throughout his teen years. Among his feats, Gledura beat two of his idols over the board: former World Champions Anatoly Karpov and Viswanathan Anand. Not surprisingly, he achieved the grandmaster title shortly thereafter.
He has continued with the strong results ever since, most notably with a 3rd place finish in the 2019 Tata Steel Challengers tournament. These results have naturally translated into high ratings despite his young age, putting GM Gledura as high as number 88 in the entire world on the FIDE standings list.
The young pro makes his Chessable debut with Lifetime Repertoires: Gledura’s Queen’s Gambit Accepted, where he gives a smart, dynamic way to fight 1.d4 with gusto. Be sure to check it out below and stay tuned for more from GM Gledura:
