Grandmaster Daniel Gormally (peak 2573 FIDE) is an English pro chess player.
With a career spanning over 20 years, he's amassed an impressive number of feats in over-the-board chess.
He finished clear or shared first in the 1998 Politiken Cup, the 78th Hastings International Chess Congress (challenger's section), and 2006 British Rapidplay Championship. He also shared second place in the 102nd British Championship and the 2nd EU Individual Championship, which was stacked with elite 2600-rated player.
An accomplished tactician, Gormally's most notable games feature brilliant tactics and surprising combinations against seasoned grandmasters.
On the other hand, he's also an author who's known for his brutal honesty and self-deprecation. Chalk it up to Gormally to give you an unfiltered low-down of what it takes to be a pro chess player... while using his own games as examples of what NOT to do. Which is why is books and courses are extremely instructive for the club player.
But don't take our word for it. Check out one of his Chessable courses below, and see for yourself.
