Grandmaster Arturs Neiksans is a Latvian grandmaster with some serious coaching credentials.
GM Neiksans became the youngest Latvian chess champion in history at the age of 16, beating even Mikhail Tal’s record by a few months. As if that weren’t enough, he went on to win the Latvian Championship three more times - most recently in 2019.
Though the young pro took a break from competitive chess to focus on his MBA degree and pursue a career in business, he couldn’t help but get back into the game full time when he was offered a job as head coach of the historic Riga Chess School. As both head of the school and a FIDE-accredited chess coach, he works with Latvia’s most promising chess talent, molding many of them into grandmasters.
In addition to his work at the school, GM Neiksans is still an active tournament player (and winner!), Twitch streamer, and author. He has written several courses on how to fight the Sicilian and Caro-Kann.
And he now brings his remarkable credentials to Chessable. His first course, Lifetime Repertoires: Reversed Sicilian is a thorough and aggressive repertoire against 1.c4. For all those struggling against the English Opening, be sure to check out his course!
