Alan-Safar Ramoutar is an International Master from Trinidad and Tobago.
Though IM Ramoutar started to play chess at the relatively “old age” of twelve, this did not stop his meteoric rise through the ratings ladder. His hard work, passion, and dedication to the game helped him achieve his three FIDE titles quickly. In fact, he became an International Master within four years of getting his first over-the-board rating!
And his surge shows no signs of stopping. IM Ramoutar is still very active on the tournament scene in pursuit of his Grandmaster title and beyond. And he’s shown that he’s ready to join their ranks. Not only does he dominate the U20 Caribbean chess scene as its highest rated player, in 2021 he defeated two grandmasters in a strong Bosnian tournament where he finished with an impressive 6/9 score.
Now the young pro looks to spread his knowledge on Chessable. His debut course, How I Became an International Master, looks back at his incredibly quick 4-year journey from unrated to International Master, and gives users detailed game walkthroughs and plenty of useful tips.
