Daniel Barrish is a FIDE Master and author from South Africa.
This ambitious young player has had a long history of playing above his title. At only 11 years old, he managed to get a draw against former World Champion Garry Kasparov in a simultaneous event. He has also achieved no shortage of remarkable tournament results. In 2019, he won the South African Chess Championship with 7.5/11 score, even beating out a grandmaster to do it. And with an IM norm under his belt, certainly the future holds more fortune with this talented young player.
Yet perhaps he’s best known as one of the most popular authors on Chessable. Long a Chessable power user himself, FM Barrish decided to publish his own courses based on his very own opening repertoires. Thorough, dedicated, and always on the search for the most principled and ambitious plans, you can rest assured his lessons are quality. And droves of Chessable users would agree: his 1.d4 and Nimzo-Ragozin repertoires have been wildly successful; no doubt in part because he’s quick to respond to questions and to update the course actively.
